i am not too concerned on my husbands attire (per usual) but i am thinking this trek will allow me to finally build some parameters for my wardrobe. admittedly i am not one to conform when it comes to fashion, earning me the nick name "outfit" at one point in my life. but i think that restricting everything from colors worn to numbers of options per type of clothing item will allow me to be sure i love what i am wearing. essential for travel. so far in terms of colors i am thinking turquoise, plum, red, white & black...but that might be a little much.
for shoes my options are
2) Pirate Boots
1) Power Sneakers
3) Roman Sandals...
but this is for the REST OF MY LIFE...not just the trek - too many sprains in my past for anything but flat, secure, footgear anymore. goodbye slip ons. good bye yah-huh-i-am-really-5-foot-9-stilts.
(my physical therapists friends will be proud) NO stilettos
NO flip flops
(ran it by mr.man: "if i had wanted to marry a stork...")
in terms of bottoms, summer is not forgiving on my body, yet shorts are not an option...what to do? keeping cool while being modest is not one of my strong suits.
knee length skirts i am guessing will be the key. freedom to run around and be comfortable and cool. but not without fear that a sudden breeze might expose what will purposefully be the biggest granny panties known to be worn by a woman under 67. or something horribly traumatizing printed on the bum so onlookers wished they hadn't tried to sneak a peek.
alas, are those my two options? i really can't think of anything else. yoga pants are too hot. harem pants are too long for their flow... are there such things as harem shorts?
i have a fear of catching my foot on the bottom of the pantleg...
but i also don't want the diaper long john look
apparently so...but are they for sale anywhere or does this turn into a sewing project at this point?
sundresses are going to be my mainstay. simple. light. cotton. and not fashion sundresses either. the kind we wore as little girls durable and ready for adventure. no spaghetti straps. no halter tops. no strapless. no worries. if i can't fight and dance in it, its garbage.
plus color minus creepy water balloon chest...
if this one had thicker straps
just nice a simple.
as far as shirts go i think an array of tanks should be fine
but some light weight long sleeves to spare my porcelain skin might be in order as well
i'd go for look #2
upon planning for the sun, i have come to realize that my wardrobe is mostly black
(thanks all "the arts" i dress like every choreographer and art teacher and director and______, etc...)
this will have to change before the unbearable consequence of dark colors near the open flame of the sun
